Burgundy is home to some of the most famous wines in the world. The landscape is gently undulating, with vineyards and oak forests, and many picturesque medieval villages and historic towns. Some say Burgundy is like Provence but with fewer tourists. You’ll start your cycling journey in Dijon, the capital of the ‘Ducs de Bourgogne’ region and of course famous for its mustard. You’ll continue to Beaune, known as the wine capital of Burgundy, and then southwards. As well as its great wines, Burgundy has an exciting cuisine, famous for snails, Charolais meat and wonderful cheeses.
The cycling is of a very easy to easy level of difficulty, with most of the day’s stages being around 25km. Cycle at your leisure and enjoy the landscape, the good food and the wines!
