This is Italy’s best-kept secret for outstanding cycling. From Otranto, with its mix of cultures to the whitewashed houses of Ostuni, the meeting of the Ionian and Adriatic seas, the special ‘Trulli houses’ of Alberobello, and enchanting white sandy beaches near Gallipoli. Not to mention the greatest pride of the Apulian inhabitants, the food. Fresh fish, creamy burrata cheese, flavourful vegetables and rich olive oil, washed down with good local red wines from the Primitivo grape.
