Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival Corçà
Today you arrive in the village of Corçà. Enjoy a pleasant dinner at one of the village’s restaurants to prepare for tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 2 Bike tour around Corçà – 17 km or 31 km
Enjoy the delightful atmosphere of Baix Empordà/Ampurdán as you cycle through the picturesque landscape. You’ll pass small vegetable fields, forests typical of the Mediterranean, and the villages of Monells and Madremanya. Be sure to stop in these beautifully preserved medieval villages. A tip is to visit the castle in Publo that Dalí gave as a gift to his wife Gala.
Day 3 Bike ride from Corçà to Peratallada – 24 km
The day starts with a short uphill, but then you’ll enjoy flat, pleasant terrain. You’ll travel through a landscape reminiscent of Tuscany, with charming villages perched atop rolling hills. The evening challenge will be choosing among the lovely restaurants that Peratallada has to offer.
Day 4 Day trip to Costa Brava – 40 km
Cycle along quiet country roads and then continue to Palafrugell, Llafranca, and Calella de Palafrugell. The latter is one of the most beautiful fishing villages along this coast. During the day, there are plenty of opportunities for breaks for lunch or other treats to recharge your energy. The botanical garden in Cap Roig is also worth a visit, or why not head a little further south through the Aubi Valley.
Day 5 Day trip to the Ter River – 31 km
On today’s tour, you will travel between the beaches of Costa Brava and the rice fields in the delta. If you don’t feel like spending the day cycling, Peratallada is an excellent place to take a rest day.
Day 6 From Peratallada to Sant Pere Pescador – 38 km
Today you cycle north in Alt Empordà through open landscapes and past endless orchards. During the day, you can stop to admire the Greek and Roman ruins at the Empúries archaeological site, or take a break and stroll along the medieval streets in Torroella de Montgrí.
Day 7 Day trip to Figueres and Aiguamolls National Park – 54 km
In the village of Figueres, you can visit the Salvador Dalí Museum, take a pleasant stroll along the main street, La Rambla, and admire the beautiful Augustine Monastery just outside the town. Then continue by following the Muga River to the medieval town of Castelló d’Empúries, and later enter the lush Aiguamolls de l’Empordà National Park, home to many waterfowl.
Day 8 Departure
Your journey ends today after breakfast; transfer to Flaçà train station is included.
