Itinerary

8 days/ 7 nights

Day 1 Arrival in La Valle-Wengen

You will arrive in the small village called La Valle in Italian or Wengen in German. Take a short walk in the village and breathe in the Alpine air and the atmosphere before the evening dinner.

Day 2 Hike around La Valle and Crusc de Rit - 17 km (13 km)

Today’s hike starts and ends in La Valle and passes over the mountain Sas De Crosta (Pares). During the hike, we recommend taking a break at Crusc de Rit, where you have panoramic views of Val Badia to the south and Valpusteria and Austrian peaks to the north. On the way back towards La Valle, there are alternative paths depending on how long you want your hike to be today.
17 km (13 km), +921m, -921m

Day 3 Hike around Pederoa and Spizan - 12 km

The hike starts and ends in the village of Pederoa, about 2 km from La Valle and it can be reached on foot, by local bus or by a pre-booked private transfer. You start the hike there, partly along paved roads, until you start hiking uphill and get panoramic views of La Valle, Longariu and the impressive mountain Monte Putia. On your way down from the top of Spizan towards La Valle you walk along the Gran Ega, the largest river in Val Badia.
12 km, +748 m, -721 m, 5h

Day 4 Hike from Passo Valparola to Corvara - 13 km

You start the day with a short transfer to Passo Valparola, and here starts an outstanding panoramic trail along the Sett Sass leading to the high alpine meadow of Pralongia. From Prolongia you will have a marvellous view of the peaks and valleys of Val Badia, with the Marmolada glacier in the background.
13 km, +532 m, -1113 m, 6h

Day 5 Hike from La Valle to the Fanes hut - 12 km

Today you will leave La Valle to go to the Fanes hut where you will spend the night. You will carry with you what you need for two days of hiking and for the overnight stay. Along the way you will admire the rock walls of the Sasso delle Nove, the Pares ridge and the Austrian peaks. The last part to Ju De Sant Antone is quite steep but you are also rewarded with beautiful views of the valley and the Fanes-Senes-Braines National Park. You then reach Rifugio Fanes, and if you have the energy left, you should take an extra kilometer to see the lakes Le Vert and Limo.
12 km, +1200, -580m

Day 6 Hike from the Fanes hut to La Valle - 19 km

Today’s hike is quite steep, but fascinating as you walk through larch forests on your way up to the alpine lake Lech Parom. Here the majestic Fanes plateau opens up, surrounded by the typical vertical peaks of the Dolomites. If you want to avoid a tough climb, there is a variant that is a little easier.
You then hike down, via the Armentara meadows before you are back in La Valle.
19 km, +810m, -1470m

Day 7 Hike around Longiarù and Rifugio Genova - 17 km (13.6 km)

The last hiking day of the week starts with a short bus journey to Longariù. Here you start a relatively steep climb alongside the magnificent Monte Putia. You continue towards Rifugio Genova, crossing wide, green meadows with stunning views towards the peaks of the Puez-Odle National Park and the Fanes massif. The trail back goes through the Seres valley with its old water mills.
(Today’s hike is also available in a shorter version of about 3 km).
17 km (13,6 km), +1110 m (+949 m), -1108 m (-948 m), 6 h (5h)
