In Ribadeo, you leave the coast and the region of Asturias behind and begin your journey inland, deep into the unspoiled Galician countryside. Landscape, language, and culture – everything changes with each step you take. The scenery remains beautifully green, but the blue ocean backdrop gradually disappears. Along the way, you’ll pass several Galician villages such as Mondoñedo, Vilalba, and Sobrado, before the trail eventually joins the Camino Francés in Arzúa.
This is a calm and peaceful route to Santiago de Compostela, set in a varied and picturesque landscape.
Difficulty
Between 4–7.5 hours / 16–29 km per day in gently rolling terrain.
