Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival to Santillana del Mar

Check in at your hotel in the late afternoon. Santillana del Mar is a beautiful medieval town, so feel free to take a walk during the day.

Day 2 From Santillana del Mar to Comillas – 23 km

The hike begins with a strikingly beautiful coastal landscape unfolding before you. The destination for the day is the small charming town of Comillas.

Day 3 From Comillas to Unquera – 28 km

Today you enter Asturias after crossing the mouth of the Tina Mayor River. Another day with magnificent views of the sea and river estuaries. Take some time to stroll the charming streets of San Vicente de la Barquera, which you pass along the way.

Day 4 From Unquera to Llanes – 26 km

For today’s hike, you can choose between two alternative routes. The first follows the beautiful Cantabrian coast, while the second takes you through a number of charming Asturian villages.

Day 5 From Llanes to Ribadesella – 30 km

A long but very enjoyable hiking day with wonderful natural scenery and sights from start to finish.

Day 6 From Ribadesella to Colunga – 21 km

A day with sea views! You hike along the Atlantic all the way from Ribadesella to Colunga. Once in Colunga, we recommend a visit to the Tito Bustillo Caves and their ancient paintings.

Day 7 From Colunga to Villaviciosa – 17 km

Along the way to Villaviciosa, the coastal landscape shifts to a mix of forests and meadows. Villaviciosa is a small, charming, and lively town. We highly recommend visiting one of the local cider breweries while you are here.

Day 8 From Villaviciosa to Pola de Siero – 27 km

Today’s hike takes you to Pola de Siero through a number of authentic Asturian villages.

Day 9 From Pola de Siero to Oviedo – 18 km

You arrive at the medieval city of Oviedo after following a number of tree-lined paths and trails. Once in Oviedo, we suggest taking a stroll through the city’s charming streets and alleys.

Breakfast and check-out. After this, your journey with us comes to an end.
