Discover one of the most beautiful and impressive parts of Switzerland. This trip will take you along a unique route among glaciers and spectacular passages. The route is called Via Alpina ‘Bear Trek’ and is known to be one of the best and most beautiful trails around the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. During the week you will hike through valleys, canyons and pass by the famous ski resorts of Adelboden and Wengen. You will reach mountain peaks with stunning views of the Swiss Alps, eat lots of incredible food in small mountain villages and stay in the most beautiful places along the way. The trail takes its name from the time when only wild animals roamed here. The wildlife here is still as present as ever, so be prepared to see different species throughout the week.

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Meiringen
You will arrive in Meiringen and check in at the hotel.
Take the opportunity to explore the village and eat in one of its cosy restaurants.
Day 2 Hike from Meiringen to Grindelwald – 14 km
The hiking day starts with a bus ride to Rosenlaui, the starting point of this hiking trip. From here you head towards Grosse Scheidegg and start our hike. Along the way we can enjoy a magnificent view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. After admiring the view, the day’s hike continues towards Grindelwald. Here we spend the rest of the evening and night!

Day 3 Hike from Grindelwald to Wengen/Lauterbrunnen – 16,5 km
We start the day by hiking towards Kleine Scheidegg. After a while we reach the famous ski resort of Wengen, where every year one of the most spectacular and toughest downhill races in the world, called Lauberhornrennen, takes place. We recommend stopping here to admire the town, especially if you are a ski enthusiast. When you feel ready, the hike continues along smaller trails past the spectacular Trümmelbach waterfall and then down to the final destination of the day, Lauterbrunnen.

Day 4 Hike from Wengen/Lauterbrunnen to Griesalp/Kiental – 21,5 km
Today we start early to take the cable car up to Mürren. If you make this trip during one of the early summer months, chances are that the snow is still on Sefinenfurgge. Today’s hike takes you through a breathtaking alpine landscape with incredible views. The final destination of the day is Griesalp/Kiental, located in a beautiful alpine valley.
21.5 km, +1315 m, +1415 m
Day 5 Hike from Griesalp/Kiental to Kandersteg – 17 km
Today we hike up to Blüemlisalp, one of the most spectacular routes of the trip. After a long climb to 2,843 metres, you can enjoy a well-deserved Swiss meal. When you’re ready, descend along the glaciers towards Öschinen. From here it’s not far to the final destination, Kandersteg (if you wish, you can take the cable car down to the valley).
17 km, +1450 m, -1685 m
Day 6 Hike from Kandersteg to Adelboden – 11,5 km
Today you will take the cable car up to Allmenalp, and from there continue to Bunderspitz. Here you have a great view of the surrounding peaks. The tour then takes you down into the valley and to Adelboden.
11.5 km, +835 m, -1220 m
Day 7 Hike from Adelboden to Lenk – 14 km
Today you will hike from the famous alpine village of Adelboden towards Hahnenmoospass. During the journey you will have a wonderful view of the top of Mount Wildstrubel. You then hike down towards the Simmental valley. The evening and night will be spent in the Bernese Oberland, a very beautiful highland area in Switzerland. The village we will stay in is called Lenk.
