In the shadow of the famous peaks of Grand Combin, Matterhorn, Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc, lies the Aosta Valley. From here, you have stunning views of the snow-capped peaks that surround the valley, giving you constantly beautiful views. On the steep slopes are castles, villages and vineyards that form the heart and soul of this valley. Valle d’Aosta is located at the foot of the highest mountains in the Alps, surrounded by Italy, France and Switzerland. Its strategic location allows you to discover many different cultures and traditions.
During this trip you will stay in carefully selected family hotels where breakfast and dinners are included. As usual, we provide you with detailed maps and directions. We transport your luggage between hotels, so you only need to carry the essentials for the day.
The average difficulty of the hikes is medium with some easier and some more difficult sections (3 out of 5 walkers). Daily stages are on average 8 – 16 km per day and altitude difference of 150-1200 m per day. The hikes are mostly on paths and gravel roads. Most of the hikes are done on the sunny side of the valley. Since they are at a higher altitude, the temperatures are usually pleasant even in summer. If the trek is done in early June, there may still be snow, especially above 2000 metres. This can make the trek more difficult and some trails may be closed.
The trip can also be adapted to fewer days. Contact us for price information.
