Champagne

Cycle in the world-famous Champagne region

In the heart of Champagne, characterised by French history, art and culture, you will meet men and women who are happy to share their passion for Champagne, their love for their region and their knowledge. Exploring the Champagne region by bike is a journey rich in diversity, where the whole region is characterised by the presence of the vineyards.
During the trips, it is possible to pre-book champagne tastings, both at major champagne houses and at smaller producers.
For our cycling holidays in Champagne, we have several options: weekend trip, short week or 7 days. If you choose to travel 4 days, you stay all three nights in Epernay. During the 5-day trip you will also stay in Reims, and on the 7-day trip you will stay in a number of places, where you can explore even more of this wonderful region. Read more under the tabs ‘Programme’ and ‘Accommodation’.
The cycling is mostly on small country roads with little traffic. At the entrance to and exit from larger villages/towns there may be a little more traffic.
Difficulty is easy to medium, as the distances are relatively short but also slightly hilly.

Biking Champagne
We love it when someone overdelivers, and that’s exactly what you did, in our opinion.

Biking in Champagne
An incredibly well-organized trip in the fantastic Champagne region. Very nice bikes; we recommend choosing e-bikes as it is very hilly. Super cozy hotel with breakfast in a green garden. It’s good to know a few words of French, as English generally isn’t very useful.

Cycling in Champagne
A fantastic trip with rented e-bikes in a beautiful landscape with many vineyards. The transport of our suitcases worked smoothly. Good accommodations. We would have appreciated more help with the train connections from Paris to Reims, and perhaps a few good places to have lunch/coffee. But overall, a memorable trip.

Cycling in Champagne August/September 2023
Good trip arrangement. Good accommodation. Nice to have booked transfer from the airport to the hotel in Reims. Good with GPS map. Good to have booked some champagne tasting in advance. Better coordination between the times in the program and the times in the voucher. Some dates and times didn’t match, but it was resolved.

May cyclists
Very good accommodation in both Reims and Épernay. It can be useful to practice a few French phrases in Épernay, as few people spoke English. A tasting at 4 pm on a day with over 50 km of cycling in hilly terrain can be a bit stressful, and it’s nice to have time to do other things besides cycling on the way to Épernay. If you want to visit several different Champagne houses, avoid cycling Sunday to Tuesday, as many are closed in May. Fantastic environment to enjoy, and we are very satisfied.

Birthday celebration with cycling in Champagne
A fantastic trip with cycling through wonderful scenery and good hotels in both Reims and Epernay. It was nice and helpful to have a guide deliver the bikes, go through the routes, and share tips on good bakeries, restaurants, etc. We recommend booking a champagne tasting at Boizel in Epernay, where you also get a guided tour and can go 11 meters underground to see the champagne aging. We also appreciated receiving a booklet with tips on sights, restaurants, and bakeries along the cycling route. We are happy to recommend Evertrek as a tour operator and are already considering where our next trip will be.

7 days in the Champagne region
Fantastically well organized by EverTrek. We drove to Reims and brought our own e-bikes. Excellent long-term parking for the car next to the hotel in Reims. Good and detailed information on the first evening from “Corentin” at Bike Energy. Nice hotels with friendly and helpful staff; all hotels had garages/storage where we could “safely and securely” lock our bikes. Extra thanks for that! Luggage transfers between hotels worked incredibly well. Highly recommend EverTrek as a tour operator!
