Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Roses
Welcome to the charming coastal town of Roses! With its long beach and many coves among the cliffs, this is the perfect start to your trip. Here we recommend you visit the fortress of La Ciudadela and take a walk along the pleasant promenade.
Day 2 Hike around Roses - 14 km
The day starts with a hike up to Puig Alt (492 metres high) where you are greeted by a beautiful megalithic area, with stunning views of the Bay of Roses below. On the way to the top of the mountain we pass the 5000-6000 year old dolmens, ‘De la Creu d’en Corbatella’ and ‘El Cap de l’Home’. Once at the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the incredible view of the Costa Brava and Roses.
The way back to Roses goes through a beautiful valley with picturesque terraces and olive groves.
Day 3 Hike from Roses to Cadaqués – 24 km
Today’s hike is relatively long with some metres of elevation gain, so we recommend an early start and that you bring plenty of water and energy. The hike follows a coastal path that leads you along a unique and beautiful part of the Costa Brava.
After a nice day of hiking along the coast, you will reach Cadaqués, a beautiful coastal town surrounded by rugged mountains.

Day 4 Hike around Cadaqués - 16 km
Today you will hike through the magnificent area of Cap de Creus, to the eastern tip of the peninsula with a beautiful lighthouse at the tip. On the way back we cross a spectacular area of magnificent cliffs, where Salvador Dalí used to be inspired. This special area is called Pla de Tudela.

Day 5 Hike from Cadaqués to Port de la Selva – 15 km
Today you will leave Cadaques and hike through the famous Cap de Crues National Park. Here, you are hiking along small paths through the unspoilt countryside, with stunning views of the sea and the Pyrenees mountain range. After a wonderful day in Cap de Crues, we reach the picturesque coastal town of Port de la Selva.
In this quiet and charming town we spend the rest of the evening and night.

Day 6 Hike from Port de la Selva to Roses – 18 km
Today you will leave the coast behind and head west, towards the rugged mountains. On the way up, you stop at the medieval monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. Once at the top, you are greeted by the magnificent castle of Sant Salvador de Verdera. Up here you can also enjoy incredible views of the landscape below.
You finish the day’s route with a hike through valleys and vineyards until you finally reach Roses.
For those who want to hike a little shorter and experience something different, we have an alternative route. This route offers a quiet and peaceful journey through the valley of Selva de Mar. The highlight of this hike is the small vineyard of Mas de l’Estela, where you can enjoy the good wines of the region.
After a nice stop at the small vineyard, you hike the last bit to Roses, where your last night will be spent.
