Day 2 Cycling from Bologna to Modena - 63 km
Today you will leave Bologna behind and cycle through the countryside towards the rolling hills. After a pleasant ride among fabulous hills and lush nature, you will reach the fortress town of Bazzano. Here you can enjoy a good lunch with wonderful views before heading to your accommodation in Modena. We recommend visiting the historic centre of the city and its marble-clad cathedral.

Day 3 Cycling in the countryside of Reggio Emilia - 56 km
Start your day with a visit to the local market and enjoy truffle, cheese, ham and the traditional balsamic vinegar. We also recommend a visit to the beautiful Acetaia Cavalli estate, where the family has been producing top quality balsamic vinegar for over a century.
Today’s cycling route follows small country roads surrounded by stunning scenery and incredible views of mountains and valleys. Stop for lunch in one of the many cosy little villages you pass. Towards the evening you will reach the final destination of the day, Hotel Reggio.

Before leaving the winery, we recommend you visit the farm’s Parmesan factory. Here you’ll learn more about how the cheese is made and why Parmigiano-Reggiano is known as the ‘king of cheeses’, definitely a highlight of the trip.

Day 5 Cycling around Reggio Emilia - 22/57 km
Today you have two different routes to choose from:
Long option: Cycling to Canossa Castle ruins. This is a very historic place as the Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV had to wait barefoot in the snow at the castle for three days before Matilda, Countess of Canossa, persuaded the Pope to open.
Short option: Cycling to the lively and beautiful city, Reggio Emilia. Spend the day wandering around cosy alleys and pretty squares.

Day 6 Cycling to Parma - 63 km
