After breakfast, there is a short transfer to the picturesque village of Oprtalj, deep in Istria. Here the trail starts descending into the forest. You pass through a few villages and reach a point with one of the best views of the valley and the Mirna River. The trail goes past the Pietrapelosa castle and further down the valley. After passing some beautiful villages, you will reach the town of Buzet where you will stay for the next two nights. The hike today is quite long, 20 km in total, but there is also a shorter variant which is 8 km.

A nice trail uphill takes you to the Korita springs with natural pools and an old water mill. Continue on to Hum, take a walk and you’ll understand why it’s called the world’s smallest city. In Hum, you can take the opportunity to eat at a local ‘konoba’ – restaurant serving only traditional Istrian dishes. Then the hike continues to Buzet.
