Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Split

Welcome to Croatia and Split! On the day of arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation in Split. At the hotel you will have an information meeting with a local representative, where you will receive all the information regarding the trip. In the afternoon and evening you will have time to explore the Diocletian’s Palace and enjoy the city. Split is a lively coastal city that beautifully blends ancient history with modern Mediterranean life. As Croatia’s second largest city, it is famous for the stunning Diocletian’s Palace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and forms the heart of the city, dating back to Roman times. With its charming narrow streets and alleys, the lively seafront promenade (Riva), bustling markets and an abundance of cafés and restaurants, Split offers a unique blend of history, culture and relaxation.

Day 2 Hike on the island of Hvar – 11.7 km

After breakfast, make your way down to the Split harbour to board a passenger ferry to Hvar. After arrival in Hvar, you will make your way up to the small village of Velo Grablje, where the day’s hike towards Hvar starts. The hike starts on the path connecting Velo Grablje and Malo Grablje village. Here you will pass through old villages with their traditional architecture and hike through olive groves until you reach Malo Grablje. The hike then continues through the village of Milna and then meanders along the coast all the way back to Hvar.
Overnight in the old town of Hvar.
11.7 km + 138 m – 506 m

Day 3 Hike around the island Korčula – 13,5 km

The day starts by taking a ferry to the island of Korčula. After arrival, take a short transfer to the village of Pupnat, where the day’s hike begins. The trail starts in Pupnat and winds through lush forests and charming villages. As you pass through Kočje, you can enjoy stunning views of the beautiful coastline and all the vineyards, scattered across the landscape. The trail continues to Žrnovo, known for its traditional stone architecture.
Finally, you’ll reach the bustling town of Korčula, a picturesque medieval town known for its well-preserved stone architecture, narrow cobbled streets and charming harbour, often referred to as the birthplace of explorer Marco Polo. The city also boasts a stunning cathedral, ancient city walls and several museums showcasing its rich history and cultural heritage.
Spend the rest of the evening and night here.
13.5 km + 198 m – 512 m

Day 4 Hike around the island of Mljet – 15.7 km

Today also starts with a ferry trip, this time to Pomena and the island of Mljet. Here you will find one of the eight Croatian national parks. This enchanting island is often considered one of the greenest and most beautiful in the Adriatic. Here you’ll enjoy a perfect blend of lush forest, turquoise lakes and ancient history. Almost a third of the island is Mljet National Park, the main highlight. The park has two stunning saltwater lakes, Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Little Lake), surrounded by dense forests of Aleppo pines, oaks and unique Mediterranean flora. You will today hike through these stunning surroundings to Montokuc hill and then onwards around the salt lakes, where there is the opportunity to swim and enjoy lunch at a local ‘taverna’.
There is today the possibility to extend the hike and thus hike to the highest peak of the national park, Malo Jezero.
Overnight stay at Mljet.
15,7 km + 407 m – 407 m

Our driver will wait for you at the harbour and drive you to the Pile Gate, where you will meet a local expert on the history and culture of Dubrovnik. The local guide will take you on a 2-hour city walk through the unique ‘Old Town’, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After the walking tour, you will have free time to explore the rest of the city and enjoy the wonderful life.
Overnight stay in Dubrovnik.

Day 6 Hike around the Elafiti Islands – 9,5 km

Today you can choose between two hikes, either on Šipan Island or Lopud Island.

Our recommendation is to hike on Lopud Island.

Option 1 (Lopud): The day starts with a transfer to Gruz harbour, to take a boat across to Lopud Island, a crossing of just under an hour. Nowadays, Lopud is a charming and relatively quiet place with good beaches and no cars or traffic, home to a permanent population of under 300 people. In the past, however, Lopud was a very important harbour, with great strategic importance. In the 17th century, the island is said to have had a population of 14,000 people, mostly involved in shipping. From the 18th to the early 20th century, the French, English and Austrians took turns controlling this strategically located small island.

Nowadays, there are only reminders of the island’s more significant maritime past, with the ruins of a fortress and palace, and churches dating from the 15th and 16th centuries.

In the afternoon, you will return to Dubrovnik, where you will spend the rest of the evening and night.

9.5 km + 316 m – 316 m

Option 2 (Šipan): In the morning, you will have a transfer from the hotel to the harbour of Dubrovnik, where you will take a boat to the island of Šipan – the largest Elafi island. The boat arrives in the town of Sudjuradj, from where you start the hike towards another small town, Šipanska Luka. There are two major settlements on the island – Sipanska Luka and Sudjuradj, both of which are connected by a road, which runs across the fertile fields of Šipan. In the 15th century, many aristocratic families from Dubrovnik built summer mansions on Šipan.

In Šipanska Luka, you will have the opportunity to try some local dishes and enjoy the beautiful sea. In the afternoon you will return to the harbour of Sudjuradj, where the boat departs for Dubrovnik.

Overnight in Dubrovnik.

13 km + 252 m – 255 m

Day 7 Departure day

After breakfast, take an organised transfer from your hotel to Dubrovnik Airport.
